COORG HAS BEEN POUNDED BY RAINS AND MANY HAVE LOST THEIR HOMES. WE ARE RAISING FUNDS TO PUT TOGETHER NEW HOMES FOR THOSE IN DIRE NEED.

The floods have caused untold misery, destruction, and devastation. Thousands of people living in Coorg need our help to rebuild their lives and recover from this unfortunate wrath of nature.

Even as the rains abate and relief measures kick in, there are untold hardships ahead for all those impacted by the rain, floods, and landslides. Please donate generously to help rebuild and rehabilitate this region. You can fund this campaign using a credit card, debit card, net banking or by Paytm. Funding has 80G tax benefits.

A NEW HOME FOR A NEW LIFE

The Government of Karnataka has announced that they will be building new houses for the flood-affected people in Coorg.
To support this urgent initiative and complete the picture, the team at Rotary Mysore West has planned to offer these houses, essential amenities like gas connections, mattresses, and electrical points etc -  the basics needed to kick-start a new life, under their own roof.  

The funds collected for this project by ROTARY MYSORE WEST will be used to provide some or all of the following:
1) One gas connection @ approx 2000 INR per home
2) One mattress @ approx 1000 INR per home
3) Three electrical points @ approx 1000 INR per home (2 light points + one plug/charging point)  

Here is an example: 10000.00 INR would fund five gas connections or 10 mattresses or 25 electrical points. Or, it would help create two basic homes. 

The rebuilding is just beginning now and every contribution will go a long way. So, please donate generously and spread the word.

About us:

Rotary Club of Mysore West came into being with the first informal meeting held on 8th August 1972 at the Rotary Children's Library Hall, J L B Road. Mysore. The Club received the Charter on 8 January 1973 when there were 25 Charter members. Membership profile of our club includes many different vocations in varied fields of business and professions, and strength of our club usually remained above 90 during the past decade.

Our Club has been in the forefront in rendering service to the community through different avenues. Apart from the sustained emphasis on cordiality and fellowship among our members the thrust areas of our programs and projects are Education, Rural Schemes, All aspects of Health, Service to Handicapped, Promotion of Art & Culture, Child Welfare, Youth Activities, Empowerment of Women, Care for the Aged and so on. We also excel in the schemes stipulated by our Rotary District as well as Rotary International from time to time.

Rotary West has been in the limelight as one of the leading clubs in RI Dist 3180. During the past 28 Years, our club had bagged the Best Club Award 14 times and secured the Second position in 8 assessment years for District Awards. Our Club has the distinction of having on its strength 4 Past District Governors as active members. We also have 2 members who had the privilege of being the leaders for GSE Team. Some of our members have received Rotary's prestigious "Service Above Self Award" and "Meritorious Service Awards". Our members have undertaken Rotary Volunteer Service in different countries. RC Mysore West has entered its 43rd year of Service to Humanity through Rotary. We have the will to serve with 'Concern for Humanity' and show the community that 'Rotary Shares'.

Tax benefits:

Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as our club is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is not accepted.

Receipts will be generated a little late ( about a month after the campaign ends) as most of our team will be involved in relief operations and there may be some delays.
