THE CONTEXT

Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya is a national campaign initiated by the Government of India to make all schools in India WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) compliant. WASH is essential for a healthy school environment and to inculcate adequate health and hygiene practices in children. This will reduce diarrhoea and respiratory disorders in children. The heath of their families and communities will also improve. It is necessary that every child attends a school that has access to safe drinking water, proper sanitation and hygiene facilities. This is every child's right.

THE INITIATIVE

Project Dhaal, an initiative by the Rotary district 3141 aims to install WASH units in 1000 schools in Palghar district. This will save lives and build a healthy generation of children. The units are designed by Rotary and Nilkamal Industries ensuring life long and no pilferage of the equipment while in use. Students will also be trained on the importance of WASH through 12 sessions.

This effort champions the cause of health and hygiene and is a low cost, high impact initiative. Each hand station will be used every day by at least 100 to 1000 students depending on the school size. Imagine how many kids will lead a healthier life because of you?

JUST INR 35000 WILL HELP INSTALL A WASH UNIT.

FUND GENEROUSLY

If you fund:

  • INR 35000, you help install 1 unit.

  • INR 70000, you help install 2 units.

  • INR 105000, you help install 3 units.

All funding has 80g tax benefits.

ABOUT ME AND THIS CAMPAIGN

My name is RAKESH SHARMA. I am a Rotarian.

I have undertaken this campaign because I believe this is a very important facet of any kid’s life. It is estimated that 1800 kids die every day in our country because of poor hygiene. It is a right of every child to have a healthy school environment which will help them study better.

The fact a simple hand-wash station can impact thousands of children over a lifetime made me realize that I must do something about it. The fact that raising INR 35000 can be a game-changer is very exciting for me. Getting a hand wash station in a school will definitely transform their lives and the lives of their families.

Please support my campaign and let us together bring hygiene into the lives of these students and make for a healthier and safer India for these students.

FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET

To ensure that there is complete transparency the team at Rotary club of Bombay will post feedback about 4-8 months after the campaign gets over telling us which school the hand-wash station has been installed at and how your funds were used. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign and will be in a format like the one below. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send EMAIL alert to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about which child benefitted. That's transparent right.

FAQs

Will we get to know the details of the schools benefitted?

Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to Rotary Club of Bombay. It will take from 4-8 months after that to get details of which school is the beneficiary with details. Once I get this information from them I shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiaries.

When do I get the receipts?

It takes up to 2-3 weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to Rotary Club of Bombay. The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.

How does crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.

It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.

Updates have been committed to after the campaign ends.
This is an open forum for all funders of this campaign.
