THE BACKGROUND
For the daily wage worker, children in orphanages and homeless people eating a nutritious meal a day is a problem. Food is their key requirement. The lack of a steady income or a no-income situation is what many folks are staring at. This issue is apparent even in MUMBAI and there is an urgent need to provide relief to such citizens. This FOOD-CRISIS needs to be resolved. The socially disadvantaged groups, who have barely recovered since the last lockdown, are facing a fresh wave of misery and they are without work and income and desperately need food to survive.
HUNGER IS THEIR BIGGEST CONCERN.

THE INITIATIVE
Hot food meals are served to people from low-income groups in Vikhroli.
Concerned citizens and members of the Rotaract Club of Mulund Hills are coming together to help the underprivileged in times like this. The initiative aims to fight hunger and is done in partnership with the non. The food that is prepared is delivered DAILY to orphanages, daily wage workers and homeless people in Vikhroli by the members of the club.
This will ensure that no one remains hungry in these trying times.
Each meal costs just INR 20.

ABOUT ME
My name is SHLOK PALAN. I am a concerned Rotaractor.
As India continues to battle the ongoing waves of the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the country, it has ravaged the vulnerable low-income communities that have not yet recovered from the first time. Their lives have been turned upside down and their trauma is not subsiding. Their sources of income are dwindling, and even something as basic as food is a nightmare for them yet again.
Through this initiative, we aim to help to serve nutritious meals to underprivileged families. This initiative aims to provide meals to the beneficiaries in Vikhroli, Mumbai. My campaign aims to help as many of them as possible. I request all of you to support my campaign so that we can ensure that no one stays hungry. The funds collected from this crowdfunding campaign would transform their lives and bring them much-needed relief.

ABOUT ROTARACT CLUB OF MULUND HILLS
The Rotaract Club of Mulund hills was inaugurated on 27th October 2015. Our members believe in helping people and contributing to society. We also work in unity and this is the key strength of our club. These positive thoughts always motivate our members to work actively.
Following in the footsteps of Rotaract District 3141, which has always been to contribute to social work, we began our flagship project, "Anna Daan." Under Anna Daan we started "Helping Hands," in which we donate 1000 kgs of food grains to the needy.
RCMH is proud to launch 'mega anna daan drive'. It is an initiative where we provide hot meals to more than 300 people every month. We provide totally free food to needy people such as orphans, homeless people and daily wage workers. The food is prepared in our kitchen at Mulund and sent to many different places every month, free of cost.
Rotaract Club of Mulund Hills ensures that no one remains hungry during Covid-19 due to the lockdown and various restrictions. We believe that every little step will help change the narrative for the better.
ABOUT THE NGO PARTNER
The Rotary Club of Mulund Hills was chartered in the year 1987. We have been together for a very long time, so we celebrate together. We serve together. Supporting heart surgeries of kids has been our flagship project. For years, we have been spreading medical awareness, arranging art workshops for children. We supported students hostels in remote villages by providing solar water heaters.
We have been taking children from orphanages, remand homes, etc to picnic. For the past 25 years, we have been organizing an elocution competition on Gandhi Jayanti and on average 300 to 400 children from in and around Mulund have been participating. We have also been organizing football competitions regularly. From time to time we organize seminars and speeches on various legal issues relevant to small businesses, housing societies, personal finance, preparation of wills, etc. This month we donated some equipment to Tata Hospital for Children's Cancer Ward.
The total cost was Rupees 41 lakh. That is the life of a Rotarian. We celebrate, we have fun, we undertake social work, we learn, we weave strong family bonds, we grow, we support society. Rotary gives us much more than a business school. It provides funds, teams, projects and above all, satisfaction. It is learning by doing. We get to practice team building, fundraising, public speaking, planning, organization, communication skills.
Together we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves. We take pride in wearing this pin.
ABOUT SARATHI FOODS
Nothing is more important than passion. No matter what you want to do in life, be passionate.
Priti Joshi founded her passion for cooking and her love to feed people about 25 years ago. This inspired her to start Saarthi Foods. Her love and passion made her meet the Rotary and Rotaract Club of Mulund Hills. She started serving meals for needy people with the help of Rotaractors. This journey has already passed 7 years with over 10000 meals being made and served to needy ones and still continuing. These meals are served once every week.
Since the pandemic in 2020, where very few people were working from home and helping in a few other chores, Rotary and Rotaract Club of Mulund Hills in association with Saarthi Foods started serving food to needy people which they did every day for the past 10 months and the same was appreciated by the local newspaper.
We wish to continue this noble practice.
