THE BACKGROUND :
There are many budding athletes and sportsmen/women who come from low-income homes and need support to fund their passion for sports. It could be cricket, football, badminton, TT, athletics etc. These children (boys and girls) from underprivileged homes can shine only if they are able to get someone to help them. Sports gives them an outlet to focus their energy, gives them confidence and also a huge amount of respect and admiration in their society/ area/ slum etc.
The slums of Nehru Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar in Mumbai are a home to a lot of young talented children who need our help. The NGO - Oscar foundation works to making them sports dreams come true. Support this campaign and help bring their dreams come true.
Once these children move up the rankings the cost of equipment also becomes higher. So for example a Table Tennis (Racquet) from a brand like STIGA (its a Swedish brand) costs between INR 12000 to 20000. Its light (made out of balsa wood), great for spin and attack and makes a big difference to the quality of ones game. The other high quality racquets come from a brand called Butterfly. (Japanese brand)

THE INITIATIVE
We are a group of teenage students from the Jamnabai Narsee International School (JNIS) in Vile Parle, Mumbai. We have come together to support the ‘Sports Are For Everyone’ (S.A.F.E) Fund that was started by our classmate, Dev Jhaveri who is 15-years-old.
Through this campaign, we aim to support young talent by giving them the necessary high-quality sports equipment for various sporting events. We have identified athletes who really need our help to take their skills to the next level. These talented children come from underprivileged homes in the Nehru Nagar slums (Juhu) of Mumbai. This will be a blessing to them and their families. They have worked extremely hard, day and night, to achieve their dreams and with a little push from you all, these dreams can turn into realities.
This campaign is being done in partnership with the Oscar Foundation.

ABOUT ME:
My name is SANIKA JOSHI. I am 15 years old and in Grade 10 at JNIS.
I have undertaken this initiative to support talented children who excel at sports. This campaign aims to target children living in the Nehru Nagar slums of Mumbai. Just because they come from underprivileged families does not mean that they should be denied a chance to pursue their dreams.
These children have worked extremely hard to achieve their dreams and with a little push from us, these dreams can turn into realities. Some of them were forced to drop out because their families could not pay for their sports education.
It’s our duty to step up and support these budding athletes.

ABOUT OSCAR FOUNDATION
OSCAR Foundation is a football for development non-profit dedicated to empowering children and youth in low-income communities in India. The NGO also provides training for other sports as well.
OSCAR uses football as a tool to deliver education and life skills sessions enabling children and youth to become role models in their community. Over the last 9 years, more than 12000+ children and youth in India have joined OSCAR’s Football, Education, and Young Leaders’ Programme. OSCAR Foundation is headquartered in Mumbai and has reached out to children in Mumbai, Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
ABOUT THE S.A.F.E FUND
The Sports Are For Everyone Fund is a Non-profit fund created by Dev Jhaveri, a Grade 10 student at JNIS. This Organisation is aimed at providing young, underprivileged male and female sportspersons with the necessary funds and materials needed to help them and their careers. Each and every donation, however big or small can help change someone's life for the better, hence we urge you to do all you can to help.
TAX BENEFITS
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as OSCAR FOUNDATION is a registered NGO and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of IT act. Foreign funding is not allowed.

Will we get to know the details of who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by FuelADream to OSCAR FOUNDATION. They will update you on the details of the beneficiaries as soon as possible. Once we get this information we shall upload a report on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiaries.
When do we get the receipts?
The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
