The Indian Army has time and again lived up to its tradition of valour, heroism, sacrifice and fortitude. They stand vigil along the border, watchful, prepared for any sacrifice so that the people of the country may live in peace and with honour. The Indian army has been working tirelessly while putting their wellbeing and safety at stake. The sacrifices the soldiers and their families go through is painful.
The pain and trauma experienced by the families of martyred soldiers is unimaginable. Many a times it is not just the wife and children who are dependent on the soldier but the extended family as well. The loss of these brave heroes puts the families under immense financial stress and they are unable to live a normal life again. Many of them do not have proper houses. They live in homes that are old, dilapidated and needs to be rebuilt.
We, the students of Oakridge International School are committed to helping the families of these brave heroes who fought tirelessly for our nation through the ‘Habitat for Heroes’ program in partnership with Habitat for Humanity India. These soldiers were a part of the Maratha Regiment and were involved in the operation to capture the Siachen glacier (the highest battlefield in the world).
It costs INR 6.5L to help build one home. The houses are of 300 sq feet with a hall, kitchen, 1-bedroom, toilet and bathroom (separate). The house have plenty of windows to ensure proper ventilation.
My fellow classmates and I, aim to raise INR 65L to build homes for 10 such families. Each of us have a goal of INR 30000. Please continue to fund the campaign even if it goes past my goal as the funds will help more families live a decent life.
ALL FUNDING HAS 80G BENEFITS.
THE KIND OF PEOPLE YOU CAN IMPACT
My name is Hamsini. I am 12 years old and in Grade 7 at Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. I am doing this campaign not for things like college applications but to help people who need it.
My campaign aims to transform the lives of the families of the jawans from the Indian Army who unfortunately lost their lives while protecting our country. This campaign will support the families of some of the soldiers who were a part of the Maratha Regiment and were involved in the military operation in the Siachen glacier and lost their lives.
These families need proper homes to live in, which will give them security, financial independence ( as they do not pay rent), will be safer and give them confidence. Together, we must raise as much as possible to fund as many homes as possible. Each home costs just INR 6.5L and fortunately, me and my fellow students are all chipping in.
Together, we can give these families a secure future with a home. Support my campaign and please do not stop funding my campaign even if we are past the initial goal. The more funds we raise, the more families we can help!

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding.
