THE BACKGROUND
Since I was a kid I've really been interested in advocating for renewable energy sources. Furthermore, I really like building things using circuits from scratch. So I thought why not use my interests and build something which helps the society.
This project is very important because in today's times, carbon emissions are at an all time high, which causes an increase in temperature. Since nature is delicately interconnected, small changes can have cascading and catastrophic effects. Therefore, spreading awareness about renewable sources of energy is essential. Furthermore, this campaign is not just about building a power unit that runs on renewable sources of energy, it is about what it represents. This model will show people that building stuff from renewable energy sources is possible and that renewable energy sources can be used in multiple combinations and permutations to generate the required electricity.
THE INITIATIVE
Building a sustainable power unit.
My goal is to create a self-sustaining energy unit by incorporating various sources of renewable energy, which is cost effective, self-sustaining and replicable. This chamber basically combines different sources of renewable energy like solar, hydro and wind to create electricity. This unit is self-sustaining and automated. The cost of developing one unit is just INR 8000.
I aim to provide the 3 such units to Cankids in Mumbai. I believe this will help the community to become self-sufficient in renewable energy. I will also teach the children at Cankids about the process and impart practical knowledge about the product. This will make them look at renewable sources of energy from a different perspective and will motivate them to take this technology forward while helping the global community at large.
