We were all very excited about the performance of the Paralympians at the recent TOKYO PARALYMPICS . However very few of us realise the challenges and tribulations that each one of these athletes has gone through to get here. They need constant help, training and support to get to the podium. Considering that they are all athletes with a range of physical disabilities - sports for them is a massive confidence booster and gives them immense pride.
The Paralympic Committee of India has been a flag bearer in the growth and success of para-athletes in the country. Promotion of para-sports is capital-intensive and monetary support is essential for the all round growth and smooth functioning of programs. The PCI actively works to help our Paralympians achieve their dreams at national and international events.
THE INITIATIVE
Vilay Sports is a Bengaluru based sports management firm which has partnered with the Paralympic Committee of India to support our para-athletes. We aim to provide opportunities for Indians with disabilities to compete in Para-sports and support the costs associated with obtaining the equipment (which in many cases must be customised for the participant). In addition to para-sports being capital intensive, there is high travel, visa and boarding costs for events abroad.
Your contribution can enable para-athletes, coaches and volunteers to travel to these events to develop and eventually succeed at the highest level and make India proud. The funding from this campaign goes to PCI.

ABOUT ME AND THIS CAMPAIGN
My name is Shreyas Krishnaswamy. I am a concerned citizen.
I have undertaken this campaign because being able to support the Indian Para-Athletes who have made our country proud is incredible. Para-sports is extremely capital intensive. Costs for obtaining personalised equipment, training and costs for travel, visa, stay etc. for the athletes is very expensive. Hence with our support, the profile and performance of India’s Paralympic athletes can be strengthened. This will help them achieve their dreams at the national and international events.
Please fund my campaign as a simple act of kindness on your part can make a huge difference to the athletes and help them represent India at various events. It will give them the much needed support.

ABOUT PCI
The Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) is the body responsible for selecting athletes to represent India at the Paralympic Games and other international athletic meets and for managing the Indian teams at the events. The organisation was founded in 1992 as the Physically Handicapped Sports Federation of India.
Aims and objectives of the Paralympic Committee:
- To promote and contribute to the development of sport opportunities and competitions, from the start to elite level.
- To develop opportunities for athletes with a severe disability in sport at all levels and in all structures.
- To promote the self-governance of each Paralympic sport federation as an integral part of the national sport movement, whilst at all times safeguarding and preserving its own identity.
- To ensure the spirit of fair play prevails, the health risk of the athletes is managed and fundamental ethical principles are upheld.

TAX BENEFITS
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as the PCI is a registered NGO and you can avail of benefits under section 80G (5) (vi) of the IT act. Foreign funding is NOT accepted.
FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET
To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from PCI (this takes between 3 to 12 months usually after the funds are raised and transferred to them) telling me how the funds have been used. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. FAQs
Will we get to know the details of who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to PCI. It will take from 3 to 12 months after that to get details of fund use. Once I get this information from them I shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiaries.
When do I get the receipts?
It takes up to 2 weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to NGO. The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
