*Prerana Educational Centre is a project of North Bengal Council For The Disabled.
Prerana Educational Centre (a project of North Bengal Council For The Disabled), located in the district of Darjeeling, North Bengal, is a resource centre for children and young adults with disabilities. The centre trains children and young adults to bring equality and inclusivity within the community. There are 128 children and young adults currently under the care of the Centre. They are cared for with love and affection. All their daily necessities are taken care of. Besides the educational activities, vocational skills are taught so that in spite of their limitations and challenges they are not constrained from leading an independent life.
The pandemic has caused a dire need of funds to support their day to day operations. Their regular donors are in a tight financial position due to COVID-19. My friends and I have taken up this initiative to support them. We earnestly appeal to kind hearted people like you to lend a helping hand by funding this campaign liberally and help us fulfil our long cherished dream of taking care of them.
The funds will be used to support these children and young adults with training, food, accommodation, medical care etc.
ALL FUNDING HAS 80G BENEFITS.
EXAMPLES OF CHILDREN YOU CAN IMPACT
My name is Shreya Rathi. I am 17 years old and in Grade 12 at the DPS Bangalore East.
This campaign is extremely close to my heart. I have taken up this initiative because I think being able to impact the life of a child/ young adult with disabilities by giving them education, vocational training, food, medicines, and other skills for an entire year would be incredible. This will definitely transform their lives, help them become independent and have a better future. The fact that just INR 27600 can make a difference to the life of a child for an entire year made me realise that I must lend a helping hand.
Please support my campaign as we can together transform the lives of many such children. If we raise more than INR 27600, the extra funds will be used to support a person for more than 12 months.
Let's transform their lives together.
A GLIMPSE OF THE ACTIVITIES AT THE CENTRE
ABOUT THE NGO
Prerana Education centre (a project of North Bengal Council For The Disabled) is an education and rehabilitation institution, in which 128 children and young adults with disabilities are studying and undergoing rehabiliation programmes. Prerana is a cross-disability centre which means that children with all types of disabilities such as visual, speech and hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, intellectual and developmental disabilities including autism and Orthopaedic handicaps, study and receive rehabilitation training and therapy at the centre. All services such as tuitions, school-bussing, food, uniform, learning materials are provided free of cost, since almost all of them belong to underprivileged families.
The Centre is also striving to promote inclusive education. Around 150 CWDs have been identified from nearby communities and enrolled into regular schools. This will be an opportunity to educate them and thrive in their lives. The centre houses both children and young adults.
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as North Bengal Council For The Disabled is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is NOT accepted.
FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET
To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from Prerana Education Centre (this takes between 1 to 3 months usually after the funds are raised & transferred to them) telling me who benefitted from the funding. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about which child benefitted. That's transparent right.
Will we get to know the details of who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to the North Bengal Council For The Disabled. We will update you on the details of the beneficiaries as soon as possible. Once we get this information we shall upload a report on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiaries.
When do we get the receipts?
The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation and you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
