With the rampant spread of COVID-19 across the country, regional lockdowns are once again being put in place. These lockdowns are putting socio-economically disadvantaged people, who have barely recovered since the last lockdown, at risk once again.
This is a huge problem in Kolkata and there is an urgent need to provide relief to such citizens. This FOOD-CRISIS needs to be resolved.
Recognizing this need, a student-led NGO “FELICITY” by Hriday Chhaochharia decided to start the ANNAPOORNA CAMPAIGN to serve cooked meals to the underprivileged. The meals will be home delivered to them by volunteers. This campaign aims to fight hunger by providing cooked meals to about 1000 people on a daily basis at identified regions in Kolkata on a no cost basis. This will ensure that no one remains hungry due to the lockdown/restrictions.
My name is Hriday Chhaochharia, the founder of Felicity. I am 17 years old and in Grade 12 at the Heritage School.
As India continues to battle the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the country, it has ravaged the vulnerable low-income communities that have not yet recovered from the first time. Their lives have been turned upside down and their trauma is not subsiding. Their sources of income are dwindling, and even something as basic as food is a nightmare for them yet again.
Through this ANNAPOORNA initiative, my team and I will be distributing cooked meals every day, feeding those who are hungry. I request all of you to support my campaign so that we can feed them and possibly help many more. The funds collected from this crowdfunding campaign would transform their lives and bring more than just a smile to them.
Let's come together and do our bit.

Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
