THE BACKGROUND
Our father Ratnakar Shetty has been diagnosed with colon cancer. He is 58 years old and we are his two children. He worked with a soft drink MNC for his entire career in Mumbai. We are currently in a difficult situation financially. We stay in Sanpada in Mumbai and the treatment for this will be done at the TATA MEMORIAL hospital in Parel, Mumbai.
He is also suffering from end-stage renal disease (ie the Kidney is not doing what it has to) and he also has to go for dialysis twice a week. For the last 4 months, he was experiencing severe pain in his stomach and was suffering from diarrhoea. We had all the tests taken and after the diagnosis doctors confirmed that there is a large tumour in his colon which is malignant ( ie Cancerous). This needs to be operated as soon as possible.
TREATMENT PLAN
Step 1: Staging lap and stoma.
Step 2: Radiation process for 4 weeks
Step 3: If the size of the tumour decreases, the surgery would be done
The approximate cost for treatment as estimated by Tata Memorial Hospital is INR11.6L.
