THE PROBLEM

Facilities needed to care for homeless animals never matched their growth in population in Bengaluru. With just a handful of veterinary hospitals, only a few caring veterinarians and sparse funds for the care of these animals led to a steep gap in their sterilizations, vaccinations and treatment.

With no facilities dedicated to caring for cats, Bengaluru is faced with an overpopulation of these felines. Presently, caring volunteers are tending to sick and injured cats, sometimes getting them spayed and treated at expensive veterinary centres and even fostering them at their homes despite their busy everyday schedules. Also, treating cats can be challenging and requires specialized vets for some of the procedures such as sterilization.

What people do when they see babies like this is, they put them in a carton, and take them far and leave them away. There are a lot of orphaned kittens everywhere. So birth control will help reduce this cruelty.

Kittens which have not opened their eyes have a very slim chance of survival. Babies like these need to be bottle-fed every two hours. This becomes very difficult as there are not enough volunteers. The volunteers that are there will not be able to go to work, etc.

THE SOLUTION

Samarpan Foundation along with the Bangalore Cat Squad is looking to address the lacuna in care of homeless cats in Bengaluru with a birth control & vaccine programme.

ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is NARESH KUMAR JAIN.

Whichever area you live in Bangalore, chances are, you have encountered several homeless animals on the streets. This is a problem that once went unchecked. While a few NGOs and a few caring selfless volunteers are helping with the rescue, neutering, treatment, shelter and care for homeless animals, the gap only widens every single day. Even this help is largely for street dogs, with the stray cats that go uncared for, primarily since cats are elusive and there are no dedicated facilities for their care in Bangalore. Which is why we need to help these helpless souls live a healthy life.

I request all of you to support my campaign so that we can also contribute to their well-being.

ABOUT THE NGO

Samarpan Foundation has been in the field of the rescue of homeless, sick animals for several years. We have helped animals get treatment at other NGOs like CUPA, Sarvodaya, the government veterinary hospital at Hebbal and at private veterinary centres. Samarpan Foundation volunteers inspected the African Moonlight Circus animals at Kudhal, Maharashtra in 2014 and reported their finding of mistreatment of animals to the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI). The AWBI consequently cancelled the African Moonlight Circus’s animal registration license. All the rescued animals were rehabilitated. This was done in coordination with various NGOs nationwide.

Samarpan Foundation organized an awareness program on animal laws at Karnataka State Police Training School, Channapatna which was attended by 650 police personnel including constables, teaching staff and the Principal, Mr Indu Shekhar. Jayasimha N G of Humane Society International conducted this awareness program. Samarpan Foundation has conducted several programs on Community radio stations to create awareness on animal-related issues.

Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to SAMARPAN FOUNDATION. It will take from 7-10 days after that to start getting details of fund use. Once I get this information from them I shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the beneficiaries.

When do I get the receipts?

The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.

How does crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly. It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
