The meals are cooked in Akshaya Patra kitchens and the last mile distribution is done by the local authorities- govt and civic body teams. The cost per meal is just INR 25. So if you fund INR 2500 you fund 100 meals. The meals are typically rice and dalma ( dal and vegetables) or Veg khichdi. They also provide a bottle of water with each meal.
My name is pranav varma. I am 15 years old and a Grade 11 student at chirec international school. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the entire world. What started off as an outbreak in china spread rapidly to the rest of the world and brought along with it misery and destruction. Even now, after many gruelling months, it is showing no signs of stopping. Covid has impacted some members of the society more than others and it is our job as responsible citizens to take care of those who have been impacted the most. Construction workers have been seperated from their families and they live in unsanitary conditions with no companions by their side. The hunger and isolation can get to the workers faster than the virus can. These workers are just an example, there are many more people suffering from the deadly disease. I want to help these people in need in any way i can because helping others who weren't luck enough to be as priveleged as me as always created this inexplicable feeling of happiness inside of me. Helping these people makes me feel like a significant memeber of the society who has assumed his role as a responsible citizen. This is why i am joining fueladream so i can extend my help to those who need it and so i can extend it in a significant manner.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation is headquartered in Bengaluru. The organization strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in government schools and government-aided schools. Alongside, Akshaya Patra also aims at countering malnutrition and supporting the right to education of socio-economically disadvantaged children.
Since 2000, Akshaya Patra has been concerting all its efforts towards providing fresh and nutritious meals to children on every single school day. And are continuously leveraging technology to multiply our reach. The state-of-the-art kitchens have become a subject of study and have attracted curious visitors from around the world.
Today, Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest (not-for-profit run) Mid-Day Meal Programme serving wholesome food every school day to over 1.8 million children from 19,039 schools across 12 states & 2 Union territories of India.
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as AKSHAYA PATRA is a registered NGO & you can avail of benefits under section 80G of IT act. Foreign funding is accepted too.
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to AKSHAYA PATRA. We will update you on the details of the beneficiaries as soon as possible. Once we get this information we shall upload a report on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the beneficiaries.
The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
