The meals are cooked in Akshaya Patra kitchens and the last mile distribution is done by the local authorities- govt and civic body teams. The cost per meal is just INR 25. So if you fund INR 2500 you fund 100 meals. The meals are typically rice and dalma ( dal and vegetables) or Veg khichdi. They also provide a bottle of water with each meal.

I'm sure you've heard the terms 'unprecedented times', 'economic crisis', 'in these circumstances', etc. We are well aware that the corona virus has hit us hard. We're lucky enough to only have to worry about minimal things like hoarding, being cooped up at home, having to cancel our vacations, and so on. However, there are people out there who don't have access to basic necessities like food and water. What about them? How can we help those people?
You must be familiar with Akshaya Patra. It is one of the largest NGOs in India. They provide meals to the under-privileged. With each donation of 25 Rupees, you could help provide a meal to one person. So, if you donate 5000 Rupees, you can feed as many as 200 people! Through donating, you could help reduce the impact of the pandemic without even stepping out of your homes. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is headquartered in Bengaluru. The organization strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in government schools and government-aided schools. Alongside, Akshaya Patra also aims at countering malnutrition and supporting the right to education of socio-economically disadvantaged children.
Since 2000, Akshaya Patra has been concerting all its efforts towards providing fresh and nutritious meals to children on every single school day. And are continuously leveraging technology to multiply our reach. The state-of-the-art kitchens have become a subject of study and have attracted curious visitors from around the world.
Today, Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest (not-for-profit run) Mid-Day Meal Programme serving wholesome food every school day to over 1.8 million children from 19,039 schools across 12 states & 2 Union territories of India.
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as AKSHAYA PATRA is a registered NGO & you can avail of benefits under section 80G of IT act. Foreign funding is accepted too.
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to AKSHAYA PATRA. We will update you on the details of the beneficiaries as soon as possible. Once we get this information we shall upload a report on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the beneficiaries.
The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
