Today, in the 21st century (2019), weavers are still facing a crisis, as a result of fierce competition with modern machinery. The scenario is that these weavers are living in utter poverty, struggling to make both ends meet. In spite of many Government initiatives and schemes, these villagers are exploited by middlemen who enjoy the lion’s share of the price. But, at the same time, we were amazed by the potential these talented craftsmen around the country had. Their products are of excellent natural material crafted with perfection. Then and there, the thought and concept behind ’PickMyCloth’ was born.
We, the team of Pick My Cloth decided an online platform which is efficient but simple and eliminates the need for mediators. Pick My Cloth website and mobile apps designed by us enable the weavers to add their products quickly and customers to buy them smoothly. Yes, the platform aims to form a bridge between weavers and buyers where they can directly communicate with the customers and sell their work. But it also wants to unite all weavers throughout India as one community. Our technical team has used the latest state of the art technology on the website and mobile apps for Android and IOS as a medium of growth for the weaver community. Each hand-woven product is a piece of art, which you would treasure.
