For most of us, ‘THALASSEMIA’ is just another term that we have read somewhere or heard about. However, in stark reality, thousands of patients battle Thalassemia on a regular basis, all through their lives. Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that leads to an excessive destruction of red blood cells, which results in anaemia. Children with Thalassemia require lifelong blood transfusions, as often as every three weeks and may need a daily dose of medicines to lead a almost normal life.I want to be a life saver and help those with Thalassemia through this crowdfunding campaign.
For over 3 decades now the Bangalore Medical Services Trust (BMST as its known was established by the Rotary Club of Bangalore and TTK Group of companies), has been providing blood banking services and blood transfusion to patients from all over Karnataka & the surrounding states. All the medical services provided by BMST are top-notch, and are made available free of cost to many patients who come to their premises, seeking help.
The only treatment option for those diagnosed with Thalassemia is regular blood transfusion (sometimes twice a month). Each transfusion costs about INR 2000 (two thousand) including crowdfunding charges.
HELP ME IN RAISING INR 20000 TO HELP COVER THE BLOOD TRANSFUSION COSTS FOR 10 INDIVIDUALS SUFFERING FROM THALASSEMIA.
About me & this campaign:
I am ANIRVESH ARCOT and I study at the Chrysalis High in Varthur, Bangalore.
Now my name and where I come from doesn’t matter I am just another kid trying to fund people suffering from thalassemia.
A few days ago, our school had a program in which they told us about a crowd funding program which is going to help raise funds for children who are suffering from Thalassemia. Once I understood the problem, I decided that I wanted to help them! This is my attempt to gift a normal life to kids my age.
The fact that just a contribution of INR 2000 can make a difference to the life of someone made me realise that I must do something about it. Further, I believe that healthcare is a basic necessity which should be available to everyone irrespective of where they come from or their financial condition.
Once before thinking of not helping think of yourself as a Thalassemia patient or think of your child as a thalassemia patient would you not help yourself or your child. Now think about all those poor parents who are working hard 12 hours a day just to provide their child with a transfusion once or twice a month.
I sincerely need your help to fund my campaign and save lives. Thank you!
By funding this campaign, you are eligible for tax breaks as BMST is a registered NGO & you can avail benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is also accepted as they are FCRA compliant.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an Idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such a pooling of funds.
You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries & Tax benefits if it involves a registered NGO.
