Open defecation poses a serious threat to the health of children in India. Pollutes the nearby water bodies and exposes people to the danger of physical attacks and encounter such as snake bites. women and girls face shame and loss of personal dignity and risk safety if there is no toilet at home. They have to wait for nightfall to relieve themselves in privacy. Apart from that, sanitation also cripples National development, workers produce less, live shorter lives, save and invest less, and are less able to send their children to school.

A study revealed that financial constraints waiting for government assistance, being away from home due to labour work, and old habits were the major reasons for open defecation. to eliminate open defecation it is imperative that toilets are built in rural India.

The total cost to construct a toilet is INR 30000 including pick up inside house open market as the topography of the village does not allow for a conventional sewage system.

My aim is to raise INR 30000 or more to fund the cost of installing one or more toilets in the village of Khora Meena, Rajasthan. This effort champions the cause of health and hygiene and is a high impact initiative. Imagine how many families lead a healthy life because of you?

HELP ME RAISE INR 30000 OR MORE FUND THE COST OF INSTALLING ONE OR MORE TOILETS IN THE VILLAGE OF PALI

ABOUT ME

My name is ARNAV GHATIWALA studying in Grade 11 at JPIS, Jaipur.

I have undertaken this campaign to raise funds to build toilets in the village called Pali, located about 1 hour away from Jaipur. Many people in this village are forced to defecate in the open because they can’t afford to build a toilet.

I believe this is an important cause as open defecation is detrimental to the household, society and the planet as a whole. The fact that raising INR 30,000 can be a game-changer makes me elated. Getting a toilet will definitely transform the lives of the villagers in Pali. The cost of a toilet is just INR 30,000 and i aim to raise INR 30000 or more to fund a toilet or more.

The overall aim is to help build 70 toilets for the whole village. Please support my campaign and let us make a healthier and safer India.

COST SHEET

ABOUT THE NGO

Founded in 2016, Do Mutthi Ka Dum is a non-profit organisation run by the students of Jayshree Periwal International School with the aim of making this world a better place. With this goal in mind, DMKD has conducted various drives, ranging from the promotion of menstrual hygiene to distributing gifts to underprivileged children. They are motivated in the quest to help those that can't help themselves and that is reflected in our latest campaign building toilets in a rural area as well.

OUR PARTNER

Shrishti was founded in the year 2007 with a "vision of a green world" to support the environment by tree plantation and environmental awareness activities. They began collaborating with schools, corporates and individual to promote plantation of trees. They have multiple programs to help society to plant trees and they run campaigns to save woodlands and trees under threat.

FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET

To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from NGO (this takes between 2 to 4 months usually after the funds are raised & transferred to them) telling me who benefitted from the funding. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an SMS and EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about who benefitted. That's transparent right.

FAQs

Will we get to know the details of how the money was spent?

Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to the Srishti Foundation. It will take from 2 to 3 months after that to get details of fund use. Once we get this information from them, we shall upload this to the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the impact we have made and how the monies have been spent.

When do I get the receipts?

It takes up to 2 weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to NGO. The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly. The receipts will be sent by the Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar.

How does crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.

It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.

Updates have been committed to after the campaign ends.
This is an open forum for all funders of this campaign.
