BBFS’ Residential Academy is a joint venture between Vedas International School and Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools to provide quality education, best-in-class professional football training, and the necessary nutrition, fitness, and boarding facilities for students who wish to become professional footballers and take up football as a career without compromising on their education.
Launched in 2018, the academy currently houses 103 children, including 20 highly talented scholars from economically challenged backgrounds. The academy provides all the facilities required for the growth and development of these players, including appropriate nutrition and diet, strength and conditioning, physiotherapy and medical testing, and also looks into the development of their overall physical, mental and social well-being.
The cost to take care of each student including their stay, food, education & training would be approximately INR 30000 per month. With 17 footballers, the cost would be approximately 62L for a year.
HELP ME RAISE INR 30000 TO IMPACT A STUDENT FOR A MONTH
ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN:
My name is Manan Shanker and I am in Grade 9 at THE SHRI RAM SCHOOL, Aravali, Gurgaon.
I have undertaken this campaign because I think being able to impact the life of a needy child (who possibly is my age or younger) by funding their education and training at the academy to be a professional footballer for my country is too good an opportunity to turn down. This is being done for the students who opted for the residential program at Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools in Gurgaon. There are 17 kids who are part of this program. All of them are coming from a very poor background from different parts of the society but have immense talent and passion to be a top-class footballer.
The school takes care of their stay, food, education, training, and other costs. The cost to take care of each student would be approximately INR 30000 for a month.
As an individual, I am trying to raise INR 30000 to impact a student for a month. Let us make a difference together. If we collect more fund’s we could together transform the lives of more children and for a longer duration.

Indian Football Foundation (IFF) is one of the first not-for-profit organizations in India that is specifically focused on supporting talented young footballers from economically weaker sections to develop into professional footballers in an organized manner. Set up in February 2012, IFF provides organized long-term support to budding young footballers in India. With a strong focus on youth development, we look at supporting footballers in the age group of 7 to 19 years by providing various financial and non-financial resources for their well-being and development towards professional football. In order to complement the growth of exceptionally talented youngsters, IFF also actively supports various coaches development programs and projects related to the development of football infrastructure.
IFF was founded by Indian football’s torchbearer, Bhaichung Bhutia along with his co-founders of Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) which is India’s largest group of football academies.
IFF works closely with BBFS, state governments and child-centered NGOs in order to fulfill its multiple objectives.
Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) runs under the philosophy that no talented Indian kid should be deprived of the best football coaching facilities in the country due to want of money. We are an all-inclusive venture and offers special schemes for worthy candidates from economically vulnerable backgrounds, personally screened by the BBFS team. As much as 30% of the enrolled students at BBFS are targeted to be from the underprivileged section of the society. Needy and talented children from various age groups are offered scholarships of up to 100% so they get an opportunity to get the best out of their talent.
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as the IFF is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is not accepted.
FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET
To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from BBFS (this takes between 1 to 3 months usually after the funds are raised & transferred to them) telling me who benefitted from the funding. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign and will be in a format like the one below. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an SMS and EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about which child benefitted. That's transparent right.
The below image is an example of the FEEDBACK FORMAT that we will be shared with all my funders.
Will we get to know the details of who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to IFF. It will take from 2 to 3 months after that to get details of fund use. Once I get this information from them I shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the beneficiaries.
When do I get the receipts?
It takes up to 2-weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to NGO. The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
