Team Orion Racing is India’s National Champions of F1 in schools for 2019. We won by a large margin, winning the Best Engineered, Best Scrutineering, and Fastest Car awards in the Indian National Finals competing with 530 teams from around the country. We have been chosen to represent India in the World finals to be held in the YAS Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, alongside the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019 in November.
The World Championship will see participation from more than 45 countries. The event will involve 2 million students from across the globe and will receive extensive attention from the international press.
This is one of the most prestigious F1 events at the school level. The Champion is decided based on various parameters like Best Design, Best Engineered, Best Marketing, Best Social Media, Best Identity, Best Pit Booth Display, Knockout Race winner, Best Research and Development, Best Scrutineering and Fastest Car. It involves a lot of effort and budget towards achieving the above-mentioned parameters.
The International Teams are normally sponsored by big Corporates like Pepsico, Ferrari, Coca-Cola, Singapore Airlines, Red Bul, etc.
Team Orion Racing has made a budget of Rs 15.49 lacs for various activities. This includes procurement of 3D Printed Component, Car Manufacturing, Pit Display, Shipping and Logistics, Team Participation expenses, Software, and merchandise.
A detailed breakup of the cost is given below
The parents have put in more than half this amount. We need to raise INR 8.5L to meet our goal.
My name is Gaurang Aggarwal. I am a student at Scottish High International School, Gurugram and part of Team Vulcan. Our schoolmates are part of Team Orion Racers. They are the national champions of the F1 in Schools competitions in 2019 and want to participate in the International competition that will be held in Abu Dhabi next month. F1 in Schools™ is a Tech Challenge for students that is run across 45 countries.
This is the opportunity of a lifetime for them. We are helping them in their endeavour to make it to the world champions in Dubai. We will be doing what they are doing next year !!
This will be a good experience for us as we hope to take part in this competition next year and can help us prepare to become World champions next year.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries
