THE BACKGROUND:
My father, Mr. Anthony Pies, was recently admitted to the ICU at Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital in Chromepet, Chennai, after developing a serious kidney infection. A 1.4 cm kidney stone had caused a blockage and significant swelling in his right kidney, leading to complications that also affected his lungs.
He is currently undergoing regular dialysis sessions, and doctors have inserted stents to help relieve the urinary tract blockage. His condition remains critical and requires continuous intensive care, close monitoring, and specialised medical support.

His long-standing Chronic Kidney Disease has progressed to the stage where he is dependent on maintenance hemodialysis. In addition, he has developed right-sided pyelonephritis (a severe kidney infection) along with a right renal calculus (kidney stone) that has caused hydronephrosis, swelling of the kidney due to urine blockage.
He is further complicated by aspiration pneumonia (infection in the lungs caused by inhaling foreign material) and severe metabolic acidosis, a serious imbalance in the body’s acid levels that can be life-threatening if not corrected.
The entire medical treatment will cost approximately INR 6.4 lakhs.

Despite battling severe kidney infections, he is also diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome (NSTEMI), a type of heart attack caused by partial blockage of the heart’s blood vessels. This condition needs careful cardiac monitoring and management.
He is also suffering from symptomatic hyperkalemia (dangerously high potassium levels in the blood), which can affect heart rhythm and is being closely managed.
This has put a lot of financial pressure on us. We need your help to get through this crisis. This crowdfunding campaign aims to raise funds for his medical costs.
We urgently need INR 6.4 Lakhs for his treatment and recovery. This will help him recover from his condition and return to a better life.
