My name is Mari Muthu. I'm from Bangalore and am 33 years old. My father was a truck driver (he is no more) and my mother works as a domestic help in several houses to earn a living. As the case is with most truck drivers, and members of families who fall in the low income group, he was a severe alcoholic. My mother struggled to raise me, my sister and my four brothers. She tried her best to send all of us to school regularly.
Every time I used to walk up to school, I used to cross the KGA Golf course. There was something about the sport that always drew me to it. I always felt it was a calling from above and would spend hours watching others play golf. One of the members noticed me one day, and was piqued by my interest towards the sport. He helped me join KGA as a fore-caddie when I was just 10 years old. My love for golf was so intense that I couldn’t help but take up the job. Also, the additional money was a big help for everyone in my family. Soon I was moved to the caddie level.

I would steal every chance I would get to practice golf. Looking at my passion and dedication, the committee and some members from KGA gave me the opportunity to start playing golf professionally. I continued to practice sincerely and all the members would guide me the first chance they would get. I can never thank KGA and its members for their unconditional support and encouragement.
I now play on the professional tour in India. But I am hampered by the lack of financial resources that I have. This makes it difficult for me to travel and play tournaments. The more tournaments I get the better my game gets and the better my ranking. When i started on the PGTI tour in 2014, I was ranked 81st in the country. Now, I rank 31st in India!
PLEASE FUND THIS CAMPAIGN SO THAT I CAN REALISE MY DREAM OF BECOME THE BEST GOLFER IN INDIA. AM RAISING FUNDS TO COVER THE COST OF COMPETING IN 16 PROFESSIONAL EVENTS ACROSS INDIA.
MY ACHIEVEMENTS AS A GOLFER
I started playing competitively in 2005. With all their help and constant hard work, I got selected to play at the All India Amateur Tournament. I continued to play at the same level for 5 years and my best finish was in 2011 when I stood 12th.
My next step was to reach the level of a Pro-Golfer (Professional golfer). I crossed another milestone in 2014 by becoming a professional golfer.
I was one among the Top 10 in Golconda Masters, finishing 5th with an All India Ranking of 35.
I aspire to become the No. 1 Golfer in the country someday. However, I am severely short of funds and will be able to continue playing golf only if I get the support of funders like you. Currently, I am raising INR 2 L INR out of my total needs of 5L INR plus .
I’ve faced several ordeals to get here, and at this level, if I don’t raise funds, all my efforts will go in vain. Please come forward and help me accomplish my goal.
I believe I will make India, and all my supporters proud.
MY EXPENSES & THE BREAKUP :
NOTE : There are a total of 16 events on the PGTI (Professional Golf Tour of India). Since 2 of the events in the calendar are in Bangalore, I will not incur travel and stay & food expenses when I compete and play in Bangalore.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly. It’s s concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an Idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. FuelAdream is a crowdfunding site and platform in India that allows for such a pooling of funds.
You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on a FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries in addition to tax benefits.
