THE BACKGROUND
The numbers tell a difficult story.
Only 48.8% of Grade 5 students in rural India can read a Grade 2-level text, and only 44.7% can solve a basic division problem (ASER 2024).
Over 30% of students in rural Haryana drop out before completing Class 10. (UDISE)
These aren't just statistics — they represent real children being left behind. Not for lack of potential, but for lack of access. In villages like Kheowali in Haryana, poor infrastructure, limited exposure, and intergenerational poverty trap families in a cycle that is hard to escape. When COVID-19 hit, this gap only widened.
JIVAM Foundation was born in response, as a movement for equal opportunity in rural India. The result is a generation of bright, capable children being groomed to become future leaders.
)
THE SOLUTION
Every evening, ~300 children walk through the doors of JIVAM's Learning and Leadership Centre in Kheowali, not because anyone forces them to, but because they want to be there.
Inside, locally trained teachers help them with homework, strengthen their foundations in Science and Math, and build the kind of confidence that no government syllabus teaches. Children who once struggled to read are now standing at podiums, delivering speeches. Children who had never left their village have visited Air Force bases and police stations, sat across from IAS and IPS officers, doctors, and entrepreneurs, and dared to imagine themselves in those seats one day.
This is what JIVAM's evening school looks like, not charity, but a serious investment in human potential. A place where a child's curiosity is met with rigour, where ambition is treated as something to be nurtured rather than suppressed, and where the question is never "is this child capable?" but always "what does this child need to go further?"

MEET THE FOUNDERS:
JIVAM is the story of a sister and brother who believed that where you are born should not determine how far you go. Isha Godara, a University of Alberta graduate and Ex-Dalberg Consultant, returned to Kheowali during the pandemic to find children cut off from school for months, with no devices, no teachers, and no education.
Together with her brother Abhijeet, then still in high school, she began teaching them in their backyard. But the foundation is also deeply personal: Isha started JIVAM in memory of her grandfather, whom she lost in 2020. Despite coming from a rural, patriarchal setting, he fiercely championed her education at a time when few around him thought a girl's education was worth investing in.
Her grandfather's belief shaped who she became, and JIVAM is her way of honouring it, extending that same belief especially to girls who have no one in their corner yet. Abhijeet has since earned a full scholarship to UBC Sauder, one of Canada's most prestigious business schools. Despite coming from a village, both of them went to world-class opportunities that transformed their lives. They run JIVAM so that every child in Kheowali gets that same chance.

ABOUT ME

My name is Siona Garg. I am 14-years-old and a Grade 9 student at Daly college indore.
I believe education is the greatest equalizer. I am fortunate to attend a school that offers abundant opportunities, and I want to give back by extending similar resources to children at JIVAM Foundation.
Without adequate support, these children risk dropping out, being pushed into manual labour or, for girls, early marriage. JIVAM's after-school programme equips them with the skills they need for today's world and escape this intergenerational cycle of poverty.
I love that instead of donating books or bags, JIVAM is investing time in improving learning outcomes for children.
The cost of supporting one child for an entire year is just ₹7,000. That's all it takes to transform a life.
Please support my campaign. A small act of generosity today can open a door that a child may never have found on their own. Let's open it together.

ABOUT JIVAM FOUNDATION

JIVAM Foundation was founded in May 2020 by Isha Godara, a finance graduate and management consultant who returned to her ancestral village during the pandemic. Disturbed by the sight of children cut off from learning, she began teaching a handful of them in her backyard. That spark soon ignited a movement. Today, JIVAM Foundation operates a full-fledged Learning and Leadership Centre in Kheowali village, Sirsa, Haryana. Our programs are designed to create long-term, multi-dimensional impact in the lives of rural children and youth.
Key Initiatives:
Learning Centre: Established the village’s first digital library with 20+ computers, WiFi, 1,000+ books, educational games, and STEM tools.
Afforestation: Planted and nurtured 300+ trees to improve the village’s green cover and air quality.
Government School Renovation: Revamped science labs, libraries, and playrooms in the local school.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding.
