Akshaya Vidya Foundation, a Hyderabad-based NGO, has been working since 2011 to transform urban slum communities through education, youth development, and community engagement. Founded by Prasad Tentu in 2013, the organisation has grown from 5 students to impacting over 3,600 children across 140 centres in Hyderabad. The NGO's focus on education, health, hygiene, and social development has made a significant difference in the lives of underprivileged children and youth.

INITIATIVE:
A 6-day summer science camp is being organised at the Akshaya Vidya Science Centre to provide experiential learning opportunities to students from underserved communities. The camp is a new initiative aimed at sparking curiosity, building confidence, and connecting science to real life.
THE COST FOR ONE CHILD FOR THE ENTIRE 6-DAY SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP IS JUST INR 1000.
The summer science camp will feature hands-on experiments, guided projects, and playful quizzes that make learning science fun and memorable. Activities like elephant toothpaste and germ experiments, and pH art will engage students and encourage curiosity-driven learning. The camp aims to provide academic reinforcement, reduce learning loss, and strengthen children's motivation and self-belief. All funds will go towards funding science kits, experiment materials, and wholesome snacks.

I'm Tara Pratapa, a 16-year-old Grade 11 student from Hyderabad.
I'm super passionate about education and want to make sure everyone has access to quality learning resources. I'm aspiring to study computational biology and pursue a career in research.
The Akshaya Vidya initiative has been a huge inspiration for me, and I wanted to contribute meaningfully. Since hands-on learning has shaped my own interests and passion, I decided to raise funds to help underprivileged children attend a 6-day summer camp at the Akshaya Vidya Science Centre. They are hosting it for students who wouldn't otherwise get access to interactive learning resources. They have planned fun experiments, projects, and quizzes to make science come alive for them.
